The TP-Link ES224G is an Easy Managed switch from the Omada family. What sets it apart from a plain unmanaged model is management through a web interface and the Omada app — while the unit still works straight out of the box with no configuration.

Ports: 24× 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45. Automatic loop prevention stops a cable accidentally plugged into two ports from bringing the whole network down — the most common cause of failure on multi-port switches.

Through the Omada cloud the unit can be managed remotely: check a port, switch it off and on (to restart a camera that has frozen) and watch the networks of several sites from one panel, without going to the office. For a branch network, a retail chain or a company that maintains client sites, that saves real time.

Which SIM cards work?

It works with data SIM cards from the mobile operators in Azerbaijan. Once the card is in the slot the settings are usually picked up automatically; if not, you enter the operator APN by hand.

How different is it from cable internet?

On a mobile network the latency (ping) is higher and the speed varies with the time of day. It is fine for video, work email and calls; for online gaming and large file transfers a cable is always steadier.

Is there a battery version?

Yes, the pocket MiFi models run on a battery and travel in a bag. Mains-powered models need a socket but give stronger Wi-Fi and support more devices.

What about warranty and delivery?
