TP-Link TL-MR3420 is a 300 Mbps Wi-Fi router with USB 3G/4G modem support. It works over a mobile operator network where wired internet is unavailable or has gone down.

  • USB modem support — compatible with LTE, HSPA+, HSUPA, HSDPA, UMTS and EVDO modems;
  • 3G/4G and WAN failover — switches to mobile internet automatically when the main link drops;
  • Up to 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz — HD video and file sharing on the local network;
  • 2× detachable antennas — can be swapped for higher-gain ones if needed;

Which SIM cards work?

It works with data SIM cards from the mobile operators in Azerbaijan. Once the card is in the slot the settings are usually picked up automatically; if not, you enter the operator APN by hand.

How different is it from cable internet?

On a mobile network the latency (ping) is higher and the speed varies with the time of day. It is fine for video, work email and calls; for online gaming and large file transfers a cable is always steadier.

Is there a battery version?

Yes, the pocket MiFi models run on a battery and travel in a bag. Mains-powered models need a socket but give stronger Wi-Fi and support more devices.
