Wireless bridge (CPE / Pharos) — when cable is not an option
A CPE builds a network bridge between two points through the air. Typical cases: a warehouse across the street, a second building in the yard, a construction site, a country house, a distant structure on a farm. Where cable or fibre cannot be laid, or would cost too much, this is the fastest answer.
One condition: line of sight
The two units must be able to see each other. A building, a tall tree or a rise in the ground between them will stop the bridge working. That is why the units go on a roof, a mast or high on a wall. Foliage counts too — it explains bridges that work all winter and weaken in spring.
Choosing by distance

Practical points during installation
The units are powered over PoE, so only a network cable runs up the mast. Outdoor cable must be UV-resistant and lightning grounding has to be planned in. Alignment needs care — a few degrees off drops the signal noticeably; it is fine-tuned using the signal meter in the device interface.

Questions about wireless bridges
Does a CPE broadcast Wi-Fi?
Its job is to build the bridge, not to provide home Wi-Fi. If devices at the far end need to connect over Wi-Fi, an ordinary router or access point goes behind the bridge.
Do rain and wind affect it?
The units are built for outdoor use. Heavy rain and snow can weaken the link temporarily, which is why a margin is left in the design. If wind moves the mast the alignment can drift, so the mounting must be rigid.
Will cameras work over such a bridge?
Yes, that is the most common use. The only requirement is that the cameras total traffic stays below the real throughput of the bridge — an entry-level pair is usually fine for 4–8 cameras.
How many units do I need?
At least two, one at each point. If one central site must serve several points, a base station with a sector antenna goes in the centre and CPEs at the far points.
Is there a warranty?
