4G Wi-Fi routers in the Omada range give a business internet access from a SIM card: as the main connection where there is no cable, or as an automatic backup line that takes over when the primary provider fails.
They combine an LTE modem, a router with firewall and VPN, and a Wi-Fi access point in one device, and are managed centrally through an Omada controller together with the rest of the network. Supported LTE bands and external antenna options matter more than headline speed — tell us the address and operator and we will recommend a model. We are the official TP-Link partner in Azerbaijan.
A 4G router brings internet where there is no cable, using a mobile operator's SIM card: a summer house, a construction site, a newly built flat, a temporary office, a backup line. Three questions decide the choice: does the SIM go straight into the device or will you use a USB modem; how many people and devices will connect; and can an external antenna be attached if the signal is weak.
| Model | Type | SIM | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| TP-Link M7005 | Pocket router (mobile hotspot) | SIM direct | Travel, the car, 1–8 devices — runs on battery |
| TL-MR100 | Desktop 4G router, N300 | SIM direct | Summer house, small flat — simple and affordable |
| TL-MR6400 | Desktop 4G router, N300 | SIM direct | The most popular choice — everyday home use |
| TL-MR3020 | Portable router | USB modem | If you already own a USB modem, and for travel |
| TL-MR3420 | Desktop router | USB modem | USB modem plus wired internet as a backup line |
| Archer NX200 | 5G router, Wi-Fi 6 | SIM direct | Where 5G coverage exists: high speed, many devices |
SIM direct (MR100, MR6400, NX200, M7005) means one device, one power supply and fewer things to go wrong. In practice this is what we recommend. A USB modem (MR3020, MR3420) only makes sense if you already own a working modem and want to keep using it; check the compatibility list on the product page.
If you already have wired internet at home and simply need a backup line, a model like the MR3420 can switch to mobile internet automatically when the cable goes down.
The speed of a 4G router depends first of all on the signal the SIM receives. Practical advice: place the device near a window and high off the floor; do not hide it behind a metal cabinet or thick walls; check the signal level (RSRP) in the admin panel and pick the best spot. Where the signal is weak, models with an external antenna connector (for example the relevant MR6400 versions) make a clear difference.
These devices work with Azercell, Bakcell and Nar SIM cards — in most cases you simply insert the SIM and switch on, and the APN is detected automatically. Two things to watch: the SIM size (nano/micro) depends on the model and is listed on the product page; and unlimited or large mobile data plans pair well with a 4G router, because every device in the home shares the same plan.
Azercell, Bakcell and Nar — all three. Inserting the SIM is usually enough; in rare cases the APN has to be entered manually.
Where there is no cable, yes. But speed varies with operator signal and network load; for online gaming and large downloads a wired connection is steadier.
Pocket routers usually take 8–10 devices, while desktop models (MR6400, NX200) handle 30 or more — plenty for a home.
In weak-signal locations, yes, and the difference is significant. You need a model with an antenna connector — this is stated on the product page.
