What is VIGI Security Manager?
VIGI Security Manager is a video management system (VMS) for Windows. It brings VIGI IP cameras and VIGI NVRs together: live view, recording schedules, playback and device settings in a single window.
- Live view — several cameras on screen at once.
- Recording schedule and playback — decide when to record and find past footage quickly.
- Local and remote access — from the office network and from outside.
- Camera and NVR management — add devices, change settings, review events.
Who needs it?
If you only watch cameras on your phone, the VIGI mobile app is enough. VIGI Security Manager is useful when:
- cameras are shown permanently on a security or reception monitor;
- several branches or sites are monitored from one place;
- you need to find an event in the archive and export the video to a PC.
How to install and set up VIGI Security Manager
- Download the software — it is free and available on the official TP-Link website on the VIGI Security Manager page.
- Install it on your PC and set an administrator password at first login.
- Add devices. Cameras and NVRs on the same local network are found by auto-discovery. A remote site can be added by the device address.
- Set up the live view layout — a 4, 9 or 16 camera grid.
- Set the recording schedule — continuous or motion-triggered.
Tip: it is more reliable to keep the archive on a VIGI NVR rather than on the PC, and use the software as the viewing and management console.
